DR OKECHUKWU FINTAN NDECHE is a distinguished legal practitioner, arbitrator, election management expert, and governance consultant with over three decades of senior leadership experience in electoral administration, legal systems, and democratic governance across Africa. He served for nearly 30 years within Nigeria’s Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), rising through key leadership roles including Director of Operations, Director of Planning and Monitoring, and Acting Secretary to the Commission. His expertise spans election management, strategic planning, electoral reform, policy development, dispute resolution, and institutional governance. He has led major electoral programmes funded by UNDP, the European Union, IFES, and ECOWAS, while also serving in election observation and technical advisory roles across multiple countries including Kenya, Ghana, Sierra Leone, Uganda, Cape Verde, Côte d’Ivoire, Rwanda, The Gambia, and the United Kingdom.

As a Senior Partner at Okey Ndeche & Co., he combines legal practice with governance advisory work, bringing deep institutional knowledge of electoral systems, public policy, arbitration, and democratic strengthening. His academic background includes a PhD in Peace Studies and Conflict Resolution, alongside qualifications in Political Science and Law, positioning him as a rare blend of legal authority and electoral governance expertise.
