Who We Are
The African Centre for Governance (ACG) is a non-partisan, non-profit organisation based in Johannesburg, South Africa. We are committed to strengthening democratic institutions, promoting good governance, and enhancing citizen participation across the African continent. Since our founding, ACG has worked to create spaces for informed public dialogue, accountable leadership, and evidence-based policy engagement. We believe that good governance is the cornerstone of sustainable development and social justice.

What We Do
At ACG, our work is centred on four key pillars:
- Governance & Democracy: We research and advocate for democratic reforms, transparency, and institutional accountability.
- Civic Participation: We empower citizens—particularly youth and marginalised communities—to actively participate in governance processes.
- Elections & Political Processes: We observe elections and provide technical support to strengthen electoral integrity and political inclusiveness.
